Accommodations

We have hotel info! My mom and I have been visiting places in the area and we have created the following highly helpful list. Pricing details for the hotels where we reserved room blocks can be found here . Naturally, you can still look for a hotel on your own, possibly starting your search here, Southern Maine Coast Lodging Guide. It's up to you.

And now, the long-awaited list:

  • Wells Ogunquit Resort Motel:. This hotel is dirt cheap and ridiculously clean. Spotless. Pristine. Plus, the owner is super-helpful and nice. We highly recommend this motel for the budget-conscious, and have gone ahead and reserved a block of rooms. They recommend reserving soon, and if you change your mind you can always cancel the reservation later as long as you give 14 days notice.
  • Village by the Sea: Village by the Sea is a nice option for those looking for more space or perhaps contemplating a longer stay. They have a variety of condos with independent owners, so the decor varies from condo to condo, but the rooms are consistently clean. Again, a highly affordable option for the amount of room you get. It's not quite as clean as the Wells Ogunquit Motel, but it is clean and you can get a suite with a kitchen, washer dryer, two bedrooms and two bathrooms for about $132/night. My mom reserved a block of rooms, so mention the Yamtich/Alimi wedding block when you reserve to get the discount.
  • Anchorage Inn & Suites: The Anchorage Inn is a nice resort in York Harbor. The facility is great, right on the water, and located close to the reception area.
  • Dockside Guest Quarters: This is a very nice collection of cottages and guest rooms located on the Harbor and ocean. We almost held the reception at the restaurant here, but we fell in love with Stage Neck instead.
  • The Stage Neck Inn: And finally, we would like to recommend reserving rooms at the reception venue. The Inn is beautiful and has great facilities, although it can be a bit pricey.

Travel Information

There are several airports in the region. The wedding is only about an hour from the Boston airport, and the Portland, Maine airport is nearby as well.

Activities

Since a lot of guests will be flying in from distant lands, Rich and I thought it would be nice to have a couple wedding-related activities over the course of the weekend. Personally, I want to go kayaking around York Harbor, and if anyone wants to go diving with me at Nubble Lighthouse, I'm game. We'll post more info as soon as we decide.

Rich's family has created a very nice list of things to do around Wells and elsewhere in the region.

Restaurants

Rich's family has suggested a number of places to eat around the Wells and York area. See this page for details.
